Hello

Hello, I’m Helen — the heart, eyes, and soul behind Helen Jaman Equine Photography.

For as long as I can remember, horses have been the place where I feel most myself. Their presence anchors me, softens me, and reminds me of who I am beneath the noise of everyday life. Stepping into equine photography isn’t a new path — it’s a homecoming. A returning to something that has lived quietly inside me for years.

I have been lucky enough to have spent some time working closely with horses: caring for them, grooming them, building bonds, and learning to read the small, subtle language they speak. I’ve tended to paddock companions, cared for twelve horses at a time, foaled down two mares on my own, and spent time supporting a show jumper and his incredible team of horses — an experience that opened my eyes to the beauty of the sport and the behind-the-scenes world that most people never get to see.

Alongside this, I’ve spent years as a photographer working with interiors, lifestyle brands, and creatives. Photography has always been my craft, my way of seeing and feeling the world. But horses… they have always been my calling. Bringing these two worlds together has felt natural, intuitive, and deeply aligned.

Today, my work is about storytelling. Not just capturing a horse and rider, but honouring the connection they share — the quiet moments, the familiar touch, the trust, the rhythm, the breath. Every horse has a personality; every partnership has a story. My role is simply to witness it, feel it, and translate it into imagery that will hold its beauty for years to come.

I work with all disciplines and all kinds of partnerships — Dressage, Showjumping, Western, Equine Therapy, paddock companions, retired horses, the deeply-loved everyday horses that shape our lives. Each one means something, and each one deserves to be photographed with care, intention, and respect.

Although I’m embracing this equine chapter wholeheartedly, I will still continue to work with selected brands and clients where the alignment feels right however I felt my Equine Photography deserved it'‘s own space. Creativity is a broad part of who I am, and I love weaving that experience into every story I tell.

If you feel drawn to work together — whether you’re dreaming of a golden-hour portrait session, behind-the-scenes event imagery, or a heartfelt story of the bond you share with your horse — I’d love to hear from you.
